Events: Gentle-Woman and the doctor hear Lady Macbeth talking in her sleep. This is a worrying situation for the Gentle-woman and the doctor because if Lady Macbeth knew they have heard her talk they would be killed. She than wakes and is continually rubbing her hands like the action of washing her hands. She is not currently speaking in iambic pentameter a signal to her state of mind. Lady Macbeth believes there is blood on her hands and she can’t get it off her hands, racked with the guilt of killing Banquo and others that have been killed in their process of being crowned King and Queen.

Quotes: “Out damned spot! out, I say!” – Lady Macbeth. Lady Macbeth is referring to the spots of blood she believes she sees on her hands. This is a well known quote because people believed she was talking to her dog. This moment and scene signify the change of Lady Macbeth’s state of mind.

“Unnatural deeds Do breed unnatural troubles: infected minds To their deaf pillows will discharge their secrets.” – Doctor

Events: Macbeth and Macduff fight and Macduff reveals that he was not born from his mother he was ripped out prematurely making a loop hole that the witches created. Macduff kills Macbeth and carries him off stage.

Quotes: “I have no words; My voice is in my sword: thou bloodier villain Than terms can give thee out!” – Macduff talking to Macbeth about how there are no words for how bad Macbeth is.

Scene 9

Characters: Malcolm, Siward, Rosse, thanes and soldiers.

Location: Within the castle

Time: Unknown

Events: They all agree Macbeth died with dignity. Then Macduff walks in with Macbeth’s head and they all hail the King and now Malcolm is crowned King. They claim Lady Macbeth killed herself.
